Graduation Application and Fees
All Students must file an application for degree conferral with the Office of the Registrar, HGA 007, to become a candidate for graduation. Applications should be filed a semester before the semester of program completion. All students are assessed graduation fees which include expenses related to processing, graduation activities, commencement convocation, diploma, and academic regalia.
Prospective graduates should read the following information carefully. Pay close attention to the dates, which are important for a smooth degree conferral process. It is the student’s responsibility to know and meet all graduation requirements and deadlines. Prospective graduates are encouraged to meet with his/her Advisors for a graduation audit to ensure that all program requirements are successfully met.
Students may pay graduation fees at the Bursar's Office (HGA Room 018) or request with the Office of the Registrar to have the fees billed to their student accounts. All graduation applications must be filed in the Office of the Registrar, HGA Room 007.
The charges for graduation fees can be billed to the student's account for the semester in which the student is applying to graduate. The fees must be paid prior to the student being cleared for graduation. Applications not filed by the published deadline will incur late fees of $10 per month. Late applications can not be guaranteed. The graduation billing fee request is available in the Registrar’s Office, HGA Room 007.
All graduation candidates must secure final graduation clearance in the term to be conferred to ensure that all obligations to the institution are met. Clearance filed in prior semesters is not valid. Each semester, approximately four weeks before the conferral date, the Graduation Clearance Form and instructions are sent to the student's Hornet e-mail. All clearance requirements must be met and approved by the deadline and before the degree can be conferred. Questions about the clearance process should be directed to the Office of the Registrar.
“Degree Only” Candidates
Students filing for degree conferral in a semester during which they are not currently enrolled must enroll in the applicable "For Degree Only" 0499 course and pay the one credit hour in-state tuition and fees in addition to meeting the requirements listed above. Graduating students must be listed on the official University roster and therefore must be enrolled in the semester which a degree is conferred.
Graduation Application Deadlines
The fee to apply for graduation is $80 on or before the deadline. Students are assessed a late fee of $10 per month after the application deadline. For more information visit the Office of the Registrar, HGA Room 007.
