Early alerts are electronic notes initiated when a student experiences a success barrier in a course. The goal of the Early Alert Program is to initiate prompt communication and effective intervention with students when they become at-risk of not achieving success in a course.
The Office of Retention seeks to proactively support student success by:
o Connecting instructional faculty with a direct link to retention initiatives for referring students that encounter success barriers in a course.
o Providing students with the opportunity to increase their chances of success in a course by participating in active and effective strategies for improvement.
o Support student learning by connecting students with necessary support services.
o Encourage a culture of support between students, faculty, and support units at Harris-Stowe State University
