International Programs at Harris-Stowe State University provide leadership and support for internationally-oriented teaching, research and community engagement. Our vision is to prepare students for a changing world by fostering cross-cultural competencies and encouraging global citizenship.
This vision is accomplished through study abroad opportunities, competency and skill building workshops, and diversifying the student body through international recruitment.
PAST OPPORTUNITIES ABROAD
INTERNATIONAL LUNCH and LEARN SERIES
This series takes place at the lunch hour during the Fall Semester to educate, inform and challenge students to think globally.
The Second Family Program provides a caring "home away from home" experience for HSSU’s international students, seeking to establish a relationship with a local family. American families "adopt" international students to learn from them and assist their student in navigating St. Louis and matriculating through HSSU. The Office of Retention and International Programs matches families with international students from over 20 countries around the world.
