Faculty Accomplishments 2017-18

  • Dr. Zakery and Dr. Joyce Eisel presented a paper on “Medical Tourism Coalition Promotes Sustainable Tourism Development” at the Global Business Conference of the Accreditation Councils For Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), Toronto Canada November 8-11, 2017

  • Dr. Reynaldo Anderson served as a panelist at the International Cannes Film Festival and presented on the topic of  “Xenogenis” 

  • Faculty Stacey Moore was selected by the Regional Business Council for the Best Faculty Liaison Award for preparing students for the Mentor Network

  • Dr. Betty Porter Walls presented a paper on “Added Value of Writing I Am Poetry” for Improved Math Performance—Missouri Write to Learn Conference

  • Dr. William Kerns and Dr. Betty Porter Walls have a journal article submitted currently under review,  entitled, “Beliefs, Practices, and Emotions of Beginning in an Urban Setting” for the Journal, Outline—Critical Practice Studies

  • Dr. Candace Idlebird presented a paper titled, “Racist Framing in the Current Political Climate.” at the Southern Sociological Society Conference, New Orleans, LA

  • Dr. Arnab Dutta published an article, "A Brief Note on Compactness of Composition Operators on H^2," in Complex Variables and Elliptic Equations

  • Mr. Greg Carr published, "A Brand New Day on Broadway: Remembering Geoffrey Holder’s Culturally Relevant Costumes for The Wiz and the Subliminal Messages of the African Diaspora" Theatre Symposium 27: In Other Habits: Theatrical Costume, Alabama Press 

  • Dr. Anbreen Bashir book review, “The Genus Syzygium” has been accepted for publication in Economic Botany Journal and will appear in issue 72(1), first issue of 2018

  • Dr. John MacDougal, according to Google Scholar, has been cited 1171 times in other publications.  He has co-authored  three journal articles this academic year and presented globally in Chile in 2018

  • Dr. Kenneth Noe presented his research entitled, “Habit, Passive Synthesis, and Deleuze’s Philosophy of Art” at the Tennessee Philosophical Association 49th Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee and was a panel moderator for a panel entitled,  “Feminism, Vulnerability, and Violence.” Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy, 56th Annual Meeting, Memphis, Tennessee

  • Dr. Sandra Leal presented research”Screening the candidacy of monosodium glutamate as an addictive substance in Drosophila,” at the 59th Annual Drosophila Research Conference, Philadelphia, PA

  • Dr. Dike Okoro has three book chapters accepted for publications including, “Poetry and Ecocriticism” in the Cambridge Scholars Publishing, UK
