Harris-Stowe State University receives its institutional accreditation through The Higher Learning Commission. "The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.”
Within the institution, the Anheuser-Busch School of Business receives additional accreditation for its unique programs through The Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
The School of Education receives additional accreditation through The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
