SGA Executive Board

 TraVonne Walker, President

TraVonne Walker is a native of St. Louis, MO. He is a Junior Elementary Education Major at Harris-Stowe State University. TraVonne aspires to one day serve his community as an elected official. TraVonne is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School. He is active in campus life, currently serving as a Student Ambassador in the Office of Admissions. TraVonne is also the Vice President of the Semper Fidelis Pre-Law Society and Mock Trial Team (2018-2019). TraVonne’s academic career at Harris-Stowe State University began when he was selected to participate in the Summer Science and Mathematics Academy. He is also a member of the Dean’s Honoree List. Additionally, TraVonne is a Spring 2019 initiate of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS). He is also a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), St. Louis County Chapter. Also, TraVonne is a member of Grade A For Change, a local Political Action Committee focused on ensuring equity in school board representation. Most recently, TraVonne, serving as Campaign Manager, was successful in getting a school board candidate elected. TraVonne has a passion for mentoring the youth and helping them reach their full potential.

 

 Desirae Mecole Martinez, Vice President

Desirae Mecole Martinez was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. She is a Junior majoring in Biology with a concentration in Dentistry at Harris-Stowe State University. Desirae plans on pursuing a career in the medical field, as a Doctor of Dental Medicine. She is an alumni of Hazelwood Central High School. She is active on and off her campus. On campus she is a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Biology club, the Dean’s List, and a 2019 Spring initiate of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Off campus, Desirae is a multitalented women. She is a natural hair enthusiast, model, violinist, mentor, entrepreneur, Health Occupational Student of America, and Pharmacy Technician. Desirae is also very involved within her community. Desirae engages in community service with her church and other organizations. Currently, her platform is to spread awareness about the high fatality rate of heart attacks and disease in women. Her purpose in life is not only to believe in herself but also to help others reach their full potential.
