A "freshman" student is one who will have graduated from high school but has not enrolled in a college AFTER high school graduation. To apply, a student must submit:
*Missouri's college-bound curriculum requirements for admission to public four-year colleges and universities include:
ENGLISH: at least 4 high school units, one of which may be in speech or debate. 3 units must be in courses that emphasize composition or writing skills
MATHEMATICS: at least 4 units of algebra and beyond
SOCIAL STUDIES: at least 3 units, including American history and at least one semester of government
SCIENCE: at least 3 units (excluding general science) selected from biology, chemistry, or physics and one of these must be a laboratory course
VISUAL AND PERFORMANCE ARTS: at least 1 unit of fine arts courses in visual arts, music or dance
SPECIFIED CORE ELECTIVES: 7 units, with at least 3 units in foreign language or in additional courses from other core areas
3 UNITS OF ADDITIONAL COURSE WORK: required units established by the State Board of Education in practical arts, physical education, health and personal finance
WHAT IS THE GPA AND TEST SCORE REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION?
The average student admitted has a 2.8 cumulative GPA and ACT composite score of 17 (SAT composite score of 850 for the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing + Math [ERW+M]) Students who do not meet both requirements are strongly encouraged to contact their admissions counselor for an interview or submit a letter of recommendation from a principal or guidance counselor.
WHAT IS CONSIDERED AND "OFFICIAL" COPY OF A TRANSCRIPT?
Transcripts must be sent directly from a student’s high school via mail in a sealed envelope, or through a secure online service such as Parchment/Naviance, National Student Clearinghouse or eScript.
ONCE I SUBMIT MY TRANSCRIPT AND TEST SCORES, WHEN WILL I HEAR A DECISIONS?
Admissions decisions are rendered on a rolling basis. Students can expect to receive communication within 7-10 business days, during non-peak seasons (Sept.-Dec.). Once a decision is made, electronic and hard copy communication will be sent.
