Lawn maintenance and landscaping is performed by outside contractors and monitored for compliance to contract terms and special requests by the Director of Facilities Management.
Facilities Management is responsible for coordinating and planning landscape projects in conjunction with the Campus Expansion Committee. This section includes, but is not limited to, flower bed maintenance, planting and transplanting trees and shrubs, seasonal planting of flowers and grasses, and maintaining all beds and landscaped areas. As part of the contract, the responsibilities also include lawn treatments including pre-emergent applications for weed control and other fertilizing, grub and pest control, mulching, mowing, cultivation, trimming, pruning of trees and shrubs, and the removal of dead trees and limbs.
The Facilities Maintenance Staff is responsible for litter control and maintaining the grounds, which includes receptacles on the athletic fields. Waste management services hauls trash from dumpsters that are on campus.
Custodial contract services are responsible for emptying all trash receptacles immediately outside building entrances.
Snow and Ice Removal
The Facilities maintenance staff is responsible for the ice removal on all campus roads, walks and steps, and as needed, may be assisted by an outside contractor for bulk removal of snow.
