  • Include guest speakers in the convocation and rites of passage ceremonies that are social justice oriented
  • Community Education/ Engagement
  • Advocacy
  • Our community based activism should stretch beyond research and provide youth mentorship
  • Educational workshops
  • Provide courageous conversations… For the community as well to be that HUB for conversations about current social justice issues
  • Do Lecture series
  • Create peaceful social movement initiatives such as those during the civil rights movement’s ex. Sit-ins and protests etc.
  • Have a strong social media page to get awareness out within the community and get the information out about our university
  • Have “Bless the Mic” sessions such as poetry readings, coining people noted for their activist work
  • Be active in being represented on radio programs, television, newspapers as academic voices
  • Hands on interaction within the community
